Sotheby’s, Christie’s Geneva Auctions Will Be Held Under New Covid Restrictions

As the global coronavirus pandemic entered its second act (or third but who’s counting), auction houses had to adjust their plans on how they will hold their upcoming auctions in Geneva. This includes the jewelry sales being held by Christie’s and Sotheby’s. Swiss authorities on October 29 imposed a range of new restrictions to halt an aggressive spread of the virus. Almost immediately afterward the canton of Geneva imposed even tougher restrictions. This includes a near-universal ban on public and private events of more than five people, inside and outside.
